Lack Of Restaurant Security

in Odds & Ends Stories

I was robbed during BROAD DAYLIGHT at CB while parked along the sidewalk on the side of the building. When I asked the clerk to call police, their first response was “the same thing happened last week.”

They don’t have security cameras in place to help catch criminals. They sent a letter saying they “aren’t responsible for criminal acts on their property.” I’m very disappointed that their PR for “family oriented” restaurant is only in speech.

If you plan to eat there, be sure you are seated where you can observe your car, and don’t let kids or loved ones go out alone to get anything out of the vehicle in case a criminal is still there and hurts your loved one. The thief has our GPS (containing our address), house keys, and pics from our cameras.

This reminds me of something that happened at my restaurant before I started working there. An employee got curious about a button under the counter and decided to press it. No sooner then five minutes later dozens of armed responce officers came awarming in with guns at the ready!

Did we work together? I did that except I didn't press the button out of curiosity. No one had told me it was under the counter and I accidentally pushed it while looking for something. Since nothing happened when the button was pushed I didn't think twice about it…until the SWAT team showed up!

OP did they call the police for you? They are not responsible for someone robbing you/your car while parked in their parking lot. They didn't rob you, aside from calling the police as requested after the incident unless they witnessed it or have video surveillance then you cannot expect anything else from them. What were you expecting for them to replace what was stolen by someone not in anyway associated with them?
