Missing Pizza Dismays Diners

We had some friends over one night to play board games and didn’t want to make anything, so we figured the best option was to order some pizza (before we played the board games, of course!). We ordered from a well-known pizza chain in Western Canada, one that we’ve ordered from numerous times before and everybody liked.

The pizzas came in time and everything seemed to be okay – except for one box which was completely empty! No grease stains or anything – a completely empty, unused box! Irritated as there wasn’t enough pizza for everybody, we phoned up the pizza company. They apologized profusely for the error and promised to ship another one out right away.

That one never came. Thankfully we had some snacks available so nobody went hungry. We phoned up the pizza company again, and they said they’d ship another one out and also give us credit for 2 missing pizzas. As it was around 10:30pm and nobody was hungry, we declined.

They already explained why they declined. It was late and they weren't hungry anymore along with being annoyed over the missing pizzas.

But yeah if it were me I would've taken the offer…pizza can be stored in the fridge, then heated up the next day in a microwave, and still taste good.

Credit for 2 pizzas would mean in their system for later use. Difference of wording between saying a credit for 2 pizzas versus we'll send out 2 pizzas.
