While traveling through Southeast Asia, I spent a few weeks in the Philippines. One day it was raining (caused by a typhoon). There wasn’t much to do, so I packed my Macbook Pro and went to a restaurant to use their free WiFi. I ordered a Coke and started to browse the internet.
The rain and wind became stronger and stronger. All of a sudden, the wind blew a tile off the roof and rain started to fall onto me. Not knowing what the hell was going on, I took my laptop and brought it to safety. The rain kept falling through the roof and pretty soon the entire restaurant floor was wet.
Fortunately it turned out that my laptop was unharmed; only my shirt got wet. The restaurant staff managed to fix the roof while it was raining (they got soaking wet). The manager apologized and even offered me a free meal which I gladly accepted.
All in all it was a pretty good outcome to what could have been a small catastrophe. If the hole in the roof would have been in a slightly different location, the water would have poured over my laptop and destroyed it.

So, your laptop wasn't ruined. Quit complaining!
Not a whiff of hell here.
You have to be kidding me!? I'm surprised that the restaurant owner didn't write a story about you, then it would have qualified as a Diner from Hell story.
If I was sitting in a restaurant and a typhoon blew part of the roof off, I'd certainly call it a dinner from hell.
Nice to see they are just as customer service olriented in the Philippines. http://complaintothemanager.blogspot.com/
Free meal? For what? All you ordered was a Coke (WHOA WHAT A SPLURGE) because you're a mooch for Wi-fi. Why did this story get accepted?
Super cool story, bro. Changed my life.
