food & beverage issues

I work at a new restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA). It’s awesome. The manager and two owners are amazing, fun guys who love people. They just do. They are genuinely interested in every person – customer or employee – who walks in that door. In fact, we became friends within 10 minutes of meeting […]

I work at a restaurant. It’s a small one. It’s American and Chinese. We serve breakfast also. There are so many things wrong with this place.

My boyfriend and I recently went to a little diner that was near our house. The place isn’t too busy, and we’re seated as soon as we walk in, which is nice.

A while back, two buddies and I went to a well-known chain restaurant to celebrate a birthday. The place was packed; however, we were seated in no time.

My father and I were on our way back from Florida. We had stopped for breakfast at a small diner by Jensen Beach. The waiter was nice and the drinks were fine. The only mildly disturbing thing we had heard thus far was someone breaking what sounded like a glass in the kitchen, but we […]

I was working as a waitress at a hotel restaurant. It was my first job so I didn’t have much experience and the restaurant was always woefully understaffed. People would just call in 5 minutes before their shift started and cancel or simply not turn up – and for some reason the managers never fired […]

In October 2010, I drove 300 miles to spend the weekend with my first love from high school, 26 years later (we had recently reunited after not seeing each other for over 20 years). I met him at the hotel and we left for dinner in his car. We went to a fairly nice chain […]

This was about a week ago in a local mom and pop restaurant (where by the way Hilary Clinton once visited). It was our first time there and we asked the server, “Do you have any Hillary pictures? Her response was, “Just look around.” (With a “duh” expression on her face). We laughed and said […]
