Everything Is “Extra” At This Restaurant

in Illness/Medical Stories

My husband and I went to a local Italian restaurant with a printed out coupon, intending to use it since there was no expiry date on it. We were told we couldn’t use it (even though it was theirs), and that was the beginning of our troubles.

I can’t eat tomatoes, so I ordered a tilapia Francese dish, and asked for alfredo sauce on the spaghetti. I was told it was “extra.” In fact, just about anything on the menu was “extra” cost compared to the original listing!

My husband had a ziti and “extra” sausage and mushrooms dish, and not two hours after we left the restaurant, came down with food poisoning and was sick for three days.

I wonder, was the food poisoning he got “extra” too?

If you were sick 2 hours after leaving the restaurant, it was definitely not food poisoning. Food may not have been 100% okay, but food poising symptoms take longer than that to get into your system and start showing up.

Should've just left when they told you the coupon was no good. Next time scream "I wont eat at this shithole when you don't honor your own coupons, you deceiving lieing twerps" then hightail out of there.

Actually food poisoning symptoms can start in 2-6 hours. Click the Homepage link for more details.

alfredo sauce normally will cost extra because the ingredients cost more to make than a marinara sauce. if the sausage and mushrooms didn't come on the dish normally then yes the restaurant would have to charge for the add on of the meal. it sounds like you expected to get extra food at no extra cost—which just so you know is not called business but charity.
