My Humiliation

in Fast Food Stories

I once decided to treat myself to a meal out at a local fast food joint. As I was queuing up, I kept thinking to myself that I had forgotten to do something before eating out. I shook it off and finally reached the counter where a rather bad tempered looking lad was waiting for me. I ordered a fairly simple meal, and it was only when I opened my wallet that I suddenly realised I had forgotten to go to the bank. It was a good thing that they didn’t prepare my meal before giving me the price!

Trying not to let anyone hear, I quietly told the lad to cancel my order. But he scowls and practically yells, “YOU’VE GOT NO MONEY?!'” Everyone started staring at me. I was so embarrassed I wanted the world to open up and swallow me whole. Cringing, I left and went to another restaurant after I had been to the bank as I was too humiliated to go back there.

What a rude idiot. I think I would have notified the company of the quality staff they had working at that particular restaurant.

I would have complained to the restaurant's manager. Even if the employee was in a foul mood, that gives him no right to humiliate you.

Definitely complain to the manager — if not in person, by a follow-up letter. The employee had no right to scream at you. You noticed the goofup before the order was finalized; you asked the store to cancel the order you didn't try to take the food without paying. That employee needs a big lesson in customer relations.

Next time, bring money to the restaraunt. C'mon, these are minimum wage mouth breathers, you really can't expect much better from them.

Give me a break. He clearly stated that he jad forgotten to go to the bank, which he went to right after leaving. The EMPLOYEE was in the wrong here, NOT the customer.

Minimum wage mouth breathers??? You sound severely arrogant and pompous.

Just say, "I'm not eating here, I just saw a roach on the counter behind you." Say it real loud and turn around and walk out!

LOL, Jack I saw a lady in Subway do that…claimed she saw a roach. I looked all over and didn't see it. Not sure what her scam was, trying to get a freebie or just freak out the customers.

How rude.

I am embarrassed to be part of a generation that knows no tact and has no common sense. Utterly embarrassed.

I'm embarrassed to part of a generation that would use a screen name like yours. This is a fun & good site, clean up you act.

Yes, don't be a hypocrite. That screen name is no good.

I doubt you're part of my generation, Jack.

Just because something is "fun & good" doesn't mean it has to be "clean". It's the name of my site. I curse, deal with it. I don't do it at work or in front of children. Cursing is not an indicator of tact, unless you're cursing at a friend who just watched her grandmother die; nor does it have anything to do with common sense, unless I curse at my boss.

There are no guidelines laid out for the use of curses on this site, as it's a public forum. We're all adults here; one word isn't going to bring the site (or your life) down in flames. Kindly piss off.

It's remarkable how the fact that you can be anonymous on the internet, can make fools, and cowards out of some people. Continue to show your lack of class.

The most effective (and classiest) way to ask that I change my username would have been to politely ask, but I understand how that thought escaped you due to your anonymity. Then again, I suspect you chose to be catty instead of polite, just to prove how much more "class" you have.

Sure, politeness would really work on someone like you.

As far as class goes I've stepped on roaches with more class then you.

Now just shut up and do whatever you do when the cheap beer runs out.

Oh boo hoo. I suppose I should go cry because someone on the internet who's never met me has insulted me. Oh, the pain.

Actually Jack showing politeness can work. When I got hate mail for my anti hate work I thanked the naysayers for their honest views and opinions and always showed kindness and positivity. They never came back after that. Don't give them the satisfaction of getting angry as it only makes things worse. Namaste!

That was just awful and that little snot should of been fired on the spot. I mean was it that difficult for him to just hit the void button? That customer should of went "old school" on him and gave him a rap in the mouth.

Sheesh, mistakes of forgetting you wallet, bank card, etc happen. That worker was rude, I would've complained.
