Update to “Mr. Cussing Creeper” Story

in Diner Stories

Dinners From Hell received an update from Michelle, the author of the Mr. Cussing Creeper story. The story, which was posted on September 2, 2011, concerned two hellish experiences which occurred during a meal that she had with her family at a restaurant. The first part of the story dealt with parents who rudely allowed their screaming infant to ruin the dining experiences of others. That episode was bad enough to qualify for its own dining hell post. But the second hellish episode, for which the story is titled, topped it. In it Michelle describes her confrontation with someone who she calls a “child molester” due to the manner in which he describes to his daughter how he’s going to bathe her. You can read the full story here:  Mr. Cussing Creeper.

Here’s Michelle’s update which is posted verbatim:

Update on Mr. Cussing Creeper
(original post 09/2/2011)

Last year I submitted a dinners from hell story about an experience that my family and I had that included a screaming infant and a man I refer to as “Mr. Cussing Creeper”. I call him that because not only did he cuss about the screaming baby, in a restaurant full of families & children and the parents refusal of a comped meal by the manager so they could leave and attend to the child, he also very suggestively rubbed his daughter’s arms and described in intimate detail how he was going to give her a bath.

When my family and I left the restaurant, I called the police to report suspected child abuse. Some of the commentors suggested that I did it to retaliate against the man for cussing, which was untrue. As I stated in one of my replies, I think bathtime can be a wonderful bonding experience for fathers and children, but what that man was suggesting was not a bonding experience. The girl in question was probably about 10.

I was reading the police blotter in my local newspaper and guess who I saw? Mr. Cussing Creeper. Guess what he was arrested for? Child molestation, 4 counts.

I will try to keep up with the indictment and trail and give occasional updates, if you think your readers would be interested.

Thanks Michelle for the update. After reading your post one could understandably argue either way whether the man you confronted was a child molester, which people did in follow-up comments. After all, while you did a great job describing what happened, one can’t know the full context of what took place without being there as you were. The news that you just reported, however, throws a new light into your story and makes rereading it all the more disturbing. Please do keep us updated as events unfold.

Thank you Michelle for the update! I was a bit unsure if the story was true or not, but this made sure of it. Thanks! Then again, it makes the story all the more disturbing.

I have a question though, how do you know it was him? Was his name there, or was it his picture? Thanks again 🙂

Michelle November 5, 2012 at 11:02 am

It was his picture. The paper in my town puts the mug shots in along with who, when & why they were arrested. I have been told I have a very good memory and when I saw the picture, I knew it was him.

I talked to a friend in the court system and he had his hearing last week and he was denied bond due to the "nature" of his crimes. There is supposed to be a write up on him and the investigation in the paper today but my paper doesn't come out until the evening so after I read it, i will give another update.

That poor child. Thank God you were there, noticed and cared enough to get her help. The world needs more people like you, Michelle.

So, last night I read the story on the Creeper and it positively made my skin crawl. Creeper is girl's stepfather. He married mom when girl was 8 and almost immediately began abusing her. The mom worked nights & she had no problem leaving girl with new stepfather. (Before I got bombarded by negative comments- I *know* not all stepfathers whose wife works at night abuse their stepchildren, just giving facts here). According to the story, the girl is 12 now, which would have made her about 9 when I saw them.

So the first hearing he went to was bail hearing and it was denied. He has now gone to an arraignment hearing and was read the charges and asked if he understood them, etc. and he pled not guilty, of course. The lawyer again asked for bail and it was denied because creeper has no place to stay until the trial. No family or friends willing to take him in, etc. and the judge was afraid he would try to contact the girl again. Oh, and there was a previous "allegation" against him but DFCS had dismissed it due to "lack of evidence". That was probably when I called the cops at the restaurant.

*got to make my entry in 2 comments, it is too long*

The way this was discovered, according to the article, was during some kind of sex ed class at school. They talked about all the usual stuff and this class had a birth control session. They do recommend abstinence but they also realize that not all kids will abstain so they try to educate them on preventing pregnacy. After the class was over, the girl asked the teacher about getting birth control. The teacher said she should talk to her parents and they girl asked if she couldn't talk to her parents, where could she get BC pills. So that set alarm bells off, they called the mom in, counselor, DFCS and after hours of questioning, she finally told. She was afraid she was going to get pregnant so she wanted to get pills to prevent it. CAN YOU IMAGINE??

**still too long so I will make a 3rd comment**

This 12 year old CHILD is being abused and has enough presence of mind to try to keep herself from having to carry and give birth to a child of incest and rape. I feel nauseous just thinking about it. I can only assume they have since given her a pregnancy test and hopefully, it is negative. The article never said, nor did it say if she had begun menstruation. But I think we all know that even if she had not had her first menstrual cycle, if she was raped while she was ovulating, she still could have gotten pregnant.

Creeper has to stay in jail until the next hearing, I think it said it would be a pretrial hearing. I hope he gets life or at least has to stay in prison for a looong time.

Hi Everyone,
I'm Michelle, the person who submitted the original story. It's been awhile since I gave an update ( I had a medical condition that needed to be tended to) but a lot has happened.

The DA fast-tracked this case due to the sensitive nature. Creeper had pled not guilty but after the girl had physical exams and talked to police and therapist, they had more than enough to convict him. He was convicted on all 4 of the original counts and a couple of other charges relating to sex crimes against a minor. However, he only got 20 years in prison ( I think he should be locked up forever) but he has no chance of early parole. He has to serve ALL 20 years before he can be released, if he makes it that long. I hear prison is pretty bad for child molesters.
During the trial, 3 more young girls came forward saying creeper molested them. The DA wanted to stop the trial, investigate and maybe recharge him but the judge said something about "unfairly prejudicial" and how creeper had rights. I was thinking what about these girls' rights? So the trial proceeded and the cops started a second investigation. The DA got an indictment from the grand jury and he filed a motion to have creeper tried at once for all the crimes against the other 3 girls. I think it was an something like 20 plus charges. I hope he is found guilty again and put away for life. It seems like between the first girl and these 3 girls, he will *probably* be in prison for the rest of his life. It could not happen to a more deserving guy.

Oh, and luckily, girl was not pregnant! Thank GOD for miracles. The girl and her mom have moved to a new town .Of course, the location is not being disclosed for obvious reasons. I heard from my friend in the court that an anonymous donor gave them a nice sum of money because they were so affected by the story they felt they needed to somehow help. I hope she continues to get all the therapy and help she needs and maybe one day will be able to have something resembling a normal life.

Alicia July 31, 2013 at 4:18 am

Yeah a real MIRACLE that this girl was raped by her step-father who knows how many times and didn't happen to get pregnant. No, a miracle would be that your God would send a lightening bolt to fry the sick F*CK before he had the chance to rape her.

That Guy September 15, 2013 at 12:27 pm

@Alicia, people like you are why atheists get a bad rap for being hypocrites. You don’t want Christians to “force their views” on others(most times it’s just something innocuous like Michelle here saying thank God for miracles), but you have no problem forcing your views on others, and being just as hateful and bigoted, if not more so, than the very people you accuse of being bigots.

Well I'm glad that the other girls stepped up.

Amber May 10, 2016 at 11:20 am

No one is saying that what happened to this young girl isn't horrible, the comment was simply looking for a positive in a horrible situation. There are evil people in this world, their religious beliefs are not what make them evil, their evil actions make them evil.

Gregg April 22, 2013 at 9:38 pm

Thanks for the updates Michelle. I'm glad that Creeper won't be able to harm any more kids.

mrsjamiecbaker April 23, 2013 at 7:39 am

This is awful!!! I can't imagine what that poor child has gone through and will continue to go through for the rest of her life. I'm so glad that you had the stones to call the police and get the ball rolling so that this horrible human being could be locked away where he cannot do anymore damage to any innocent person.

Too often, people are content to ignore negative things around them and just continue on with their day because the negative thing is "none of their business." What you saw the creeper do was none of your business, but I'm glad you stepped up and made it your business to help that poor girl. If you hadn't, who is to say this "man" would have been arrested? Without your help, he could have been free to continue the abuse.

As far as the first miss by DFCS, I hope no one places blame on that agency for the initial slip. I had DFCS called on me once by my former daycare provider (my 4 year old bumped his head and made up a story about how it happened, which prompted her to call) so I'm familiar with the process. He said/she said simply isn't enough for the agency to provide proper assistance and it sounds like they didn't have anything concrete at the time that they could use to help the girl. DFCS agents have a rough job, and I'm just glad that they were finally given something concrete to use against that perv.

Round of applause for you, Michelle!!!

Michelle April 24, 2013 at 12:23 pm

Thanks! I just knew that guy was bad news. And I know CPS/DCFS is limited in what they can do without concrete proof, so, no I don't blame them. People like him use fear and intimidation to control and abuse children so I hope he gets exactly what he deserves!!

wow June 11, 2013 at 7:32 pm

good job! its baldy people like you who don't just wince and look the other way that save peoples lives.

... June 11, 2013 at 7:34 pm

*balsy not baldy

Alex March 27, 2015 at 10:11 am
