Dinners From Hell received an update from Michelle, the author of the Mr. Cussing Creeper story. The story, which was posted on September 2, 2011, concerned two hellish experiences which occurred during a meal that she had with her family at a restaurant. The first part of the story dealt with parents who rudely allowed their screaming infant to ruin the dining experiences of others. That episode was bad enough to qualify for its own dining hell post. But the second hellish episode, for which the story is titled, topped it. In it Michelle describes her confrontation with someone who she calls a “child molester” due to the manner in which he describes to his daughter how he’s going to bathe her. You can read the full story here: Mr. Cussing Creeper.
Here’s Michelle’s update which is posted verbatim:
Update on Mr. Cussing Creeper
(original post 09/2/2011)
Last year I submitted a dinners from hell story about an experience that my family and I had that included a screaming infant and a man I refer to as “Mr. Cussing Creeper”. I call him that because not only did he cuss about the screaming baby, in a restaurant full of families & children and the parents refusal of a comped meal by the manager so they could leave and attend to the child, he also very suggestively rubbed his daughter’s arms and described in intimate detail how he was going to give her a bath.
When my family and I left the restaurant, I called the police to report suspected child abuse. Some of the commentors suggested that I did it to retaliate against the man for cussing, which was untrue. As I stated in one of my replies, I think bathtime can be a wonderful bonding experience for fathers and children, but what that man was suggesting was not a bonding experience. The girl in question was probably about 10.
I was reading the police blotter in my local newspaper and guess who I saw? Mr. Cussing Creeper. Guess what he was arrested for? Child molestation, 4 counts.
I will try to keep up with the indictment and trail and give occasional updates, if you think your readers would be interested.
Thanks Michelle for the update. After reading your post one could understandably argue either way whether the man you confronted was a child molester, which people did in follow-up comments. After all, while you did a great job describing what happened, one can’t know the full context of what took place without being there as you were. The news that you just reported, however, throws a new light into your story and makes rereading it all the more disturbing. Please do keep us updated as events unfold.
